First family vacation with Bay and Ty!!!

We made it to Orange Beach! Chad and I were talking and thought if we were going to get to take a vacation (haven't in 6 years!), it should be while I am on maternity leave and before he starts his business or gets a job, right? We got online and booked the trip despite the oil spill disaster!!! Since we are not beach people, we figured as long as Baylee got to see and play on the beach, she would be happy....We talked CC into coming to help us with Ty and after much encouragement (she does not like to travel!!!) she joined us!

We left at midnight and arrived here around 7 am - Baylee was so excited she hardly slept at all and yet Ty decided he would sleep through the night for the first time!!! YEAH BROTHER!!!! He turned 8 weeks today! He slept the whole way and woke up at 6!!

We were almost to the condo when we saw the beach and it was open with one red flag (swim at your own risk - we heard that most were flying 2 red flags which meant no contact with the water!) We pulled off the road - PJs and all - and introduced Baylee to the beach. When we were walking back to the car, she was dragging behind and we told her to hurry and she looked up and said, "I just can't go anymore!!" She was already tired of walking in the sand!!!
First pic on the beach!

We checked in to the condo - changed clothes and got right back out to the beach. Who knows what tomorrow would bring with the oil. We didn't even try the beaches in Orange Beach - we drove 10 minutes down the road to Pensacola and saw people in the water and tried it out! It was beautiful!

Built a sand castle!!

She was exhausted and fell to sleep when we got in the car!

View from the balcony. We picked to stay here cause the pool was so perfect for Baylee! Water slide, lazy river, kids pool and adult pool! We got a unit that overlooked the pool area so CC could watch from the room - her and Ty napped on the balcony in the shade and a nice breeze...

We finished the night at dinner at Cosmos and the food was wonderful. The first restaurant we went to was closing early due to no customers - this area has really been hit by the oil spill and people not coming. We drove to the next place and they were open and we were treated like royalty! Sad but good for us! Day one of vacation has been wonderful.....
