My big girl

My little girl is so big!  She got her first tri-cycle and helmet yesterday (early birthday from CC and D) and didn't know quite what to think!!  She climbed on but hasn't figured out the whole leg pushing thing!  She is very comfortable just having someone push her!  It was raining yesterday so we have not ventured outdoors...maybe today???  We will see!

Mickey Helmet!!

this morning, she had to climb on again!

"Saying" I love you

I was reading an article on how children express the love they have for their parents when they are not able to verbally say "I love you" and learned that it was through imitation.  Baylee expressed that she loved me and my heart sunk!

I was getting ready to go to work and she came around the corner in my glasses.  How she got them on correctly is beyond me!!

I love you too Baylee!

HighPoint on Sunday

Today, my sister in law Kim and Chad's best friend's daughter, Riley got baptized at HighPoint church in Memphis.  It was an amazing service and we were so glad to be apart of it.  Many of Kim's friends and family got to be a part of it and we were glad to be there for her!!!

Botanic Gardens

We enjoyed a wonderful Saturday out at the Botanic Gardens.  My sister in law, Sherry, found out that they were having an Easter Egg Hunt, so we took the girls out to the gardens and it was a blast!  There were a ton of people there, and so many activities for the kids.  They had the Easter Bunny, egg hunt, face painting, and of course, the beautiful gardens.  It was wonderful!! All the pictures are on the gallery (link on left.)

If this is a precursor to potty training....

then I surrender.
Tonight, after bath time, I was letting Baylee air dry and run around freely in the master bathroom on the tile.  She has a terrible diaper rash, so I thought it would be good to air dry.  Mind you, she has her little potty, complete with a musical tune when you perform on the potty correctly, just sitting right there in the bathroom....I am sure you can see where this is going.  Anyway, she is just a running around, having a good ole time and then I see her begin to squat.
I say, "Baylee, do you need to go potty?"
She looks at me as if she is saying "what are you talking about momma?  I still use a diaper."
I say, "you don't have a diaper on, remember?"
I then put her on her colorful, musical potty and she sits there looking at me like "what am I suppose to do on this thing?"
She stays there for about 30 seconds, which is a long time!!!  and nothing.
She gets up, heads for my closet to get all my tennis shoes, squats, looks back at me, and decides to poop!....on my carpet in my closet.  Now, I know she had to know what she was doing!!  I get her and run to her toilet, dripping poop, of which none reaches the toilet.

I begin to clean the mess and her up and as I am cleaning her up, she decides to pee....all over me.  I could only look at her and laugh, which was not the right parent thing to do, but I was done.....so help me, if this is what potty training looks like, we are in for it at the Deaton house!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Our small group from Life Fellowship had an Easter Egg Hunt today!  Baylee's first real egg hunt was so much fun and she really got into it!  She was walking all over the place trying to fill her basket with a great deal of help from Lindsey.  What a beautiful day for an Easter Egg Hunt!

Miss Independent

Lately, Baylee has been getting more and more independent for me...she loves to get her hair wet in her own little special way.  Take a look......

She does the same to get the soap out!  At least I still get to wash her hair...My little girl is growing up!
